Gerald "Doc" Dart 82 Oblong, Illinois formerly of Paris, Illinois passed away Saturday, December 21, 2002 at his residence in Oblong, Illinois. Gerald was born December 3, 1920 in Crawford County, Illinois and was the son of Ocie Mayfield and Gladys (Battershell) Dart. August, 1946 Gerald married Eulalee (Warters) who preceded him in death on September 10, 1982. Gerald graduated from the University of Illinois in Veterinary Medicine in l953. He was a retired Veterinarian from 1953 - 1987 from his practice in Paris, Illinois (Dart, Taylor & Climer), from 1991 to 1997 he worked with Dr. John Trimble of Robinson, Illinois. Gerald served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was a former member of the Board of Directors of Edgar County State Bank, Paris, Illinois. He was a member of the Paris and Robinson Elks Lodge, Oblong American Legion Post #219, American Veterinary Medical Association and the Illinois Alumni Association. Gerald hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing and hunting mushrooms.

Gerald is survived by two sons: Gary and Charles W. Dart, three daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Hugh Crome, Jan Roberge and Lori and Michael Parker; three brothers: John W., Stanley and Kenneth; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Warren Stout and Jean and Charlie "Herb" Bubb; 10 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery with Full Military Rites by the Oblong American Legion Post #219.
